Nabhi Kriya Day 2

Actually, I cheated. This is really the 3rd day. I started a day early.

Nabhi Kriya isn’t hard; 0ther than keeping your mind in line for the long times of the set. If you want to learn to focus on your breath, this is a good way to start.

Please note, one can practice Kundalini Yoga alone, but PLEASE learn the basics from a human teacher. A couple of classes and a yoga teacher can make sure you understand safe, correct, practice. It is very worthwhile.

Back to Nabhi Kriya.

I’m surprised how it doesn’t pump the abdomen like crunches. There’s no feeling that the muscles want to cramp.

The complexity of a simple motion like raising the legs gets detailed pretty fast. One foot is slightly twisted. On extension, the left foot wants to point and the right foot wants to rotate.
There is a real need to watch the little things. Keep the knees together and heels together and the rotation doesn’t happen in the foot when extended. This appears to be connected to the inner thigh muscle on the right, as the 2 seem to be balancing. I do walk splay-footed.
After these couple days, the Life Nerve and muscles along both calves were contracted. Took about 5 min to work that out.
Cracked a sweat about 2 minutes into the double leg lifts.
The bit about sore muscles is true already; more of a “worked” feeling than really sore. Starting again this morning, the top of the inside right thigh, the outside of the left knee, right hip have that soreness. Not the Abs! There is a “concentration” of the muscles as if they were a little tighter, but no soreness.

Laya Yoga is so sweet. The rhythm and movement allow the mind to think it is doing something while chanting.
Oboy. Remember Mulh Bandh? Well, now we know our capabilities. That little stomach pull can put this all back in line.
Since I’ve been lax in my yoga practice, I’m starting the Laya Yoga at 11 min. Goal is 31 min.

Wishing you all a great weekend!
