Spring Laya Yoga Time Increase
First, let me wish you a HAPPY SPRING!
The weather just needs to catch up. We had a foot of snow recently and another inch last night. In fact, it is snowing right now.
Our area is famous for late snows. A few years back, it snowed on Memorial Day and a week later we got another 15 inches. 3 weeks later, we went into Summer. Spring lasted 3 weeks. Los Angeles is only 2 hours and 6700 ft away!
But, in the interest of the Laya Yoga meditation, we increased our time from 45 to 62 minutes on the Equinox. That one took about 3 days to integrate. Falling asleep can be really easy after a full hour. It was a bit of a blow-out on those days. Pumping the navel and pulling the diaphragm in and up can move a lot of energy. Sweat comes with it. Dripping sweat. Let’s cleanse!
We’re both losing weight. LOOKING GOOD!
I recommend you try something like this. So many meditations are, well, meditative. Try one of the “heavies”. Tantric Har, for example. Get that navel pumping and stimulate your system.
One class, the Siri Singh Sahib put the right hand palm down in front of the heart center. Elbow up, parallel to the floor. His comment was that the yogis use the Hamsa Danda (T-Stick) for this. Since we didn’t have one, we just put the arm into the correct position and held it. Whew!
PLEASE, give yourself time afterward to integrate. Sit and meditate in the silence for a few minutes. Lie down on your spine for 11-16 minutes. If time is an issue, set an alarm so you don’t wake 2 hours later. It happens.
Wishing you all a great Spring sadhana. You could set a goal of Summer Solstice and see where you are in 40 to 90 days. Waho!
Blessings.

Those Enhancement Drugs
Greetings.
I would truly like to thank all of you who have signed up and joined Kundalini Yoga Blogs to receive announcements of new posts, feeds, etc. These teachings are priceless. May you be blessed.
What is funny to me is, how many people have Viagra or Cialis in their email addresses. First, I’m impressed you got through the Spam filters!
But, a little yogic knowledge may help you make more conscious decisions on what you are ingesting for a short-term (…up to 4 hours…) “benefit”.
Years before our lovely government helped develop “the answer” to our potency problems, Yogi Bhajan talked about the human body.
A woman’s body is mature at 18. A man’s body is mature at 25. A man who has sex before age 25 will experience temporary impotency in his 40′s.
Well, there it is. And I remember college days…whew! I hardly knew anyone who was 25.
So now, courtesy of our inconsistent Western Science, we have at least 2 pills to help us through those “dark nights”. Hmmmmmmm.
Did you know, today’s teens are taking these pills?…only, in true teen experimentation, they’re eating many times the normal dosage?
Did you know, that 3rd graders are eating this stuff?
Any online pharmacy will send you the pills. Mix in the alcohol and street drugs at the same time and see what you can see; if you can see.
Do you know how many elderly men are having heart attacks and dying during sex? This is usually suppressed, since it appears to be so embarrassing to the families. Blood pressure goes up and an intimate moment turns into the last moment. Grandpa went out with a flair!…………
There are many yogic/dietary teachings to gain control and confidence. Patience, knowledge and practice are still not a virtue, I guess.
In Kundalini Yoga, potency was emphasized from the beginning. Proper bodily care was emphasized from the beginning. Proper diet was emphasized from the beginning. Conversion of Bindu to Ojas was emphasized. Retention and yogic exercise were taught to both men and women. Loss of seed over time is found to even cause backaches and headaches. Here’s a pill to suppress the back pain.
It takes 80 bites of food to make 1 drop of blood. It takes 80 drops of blood to make 1 drop of semen. It only takes 1 drop of mature spinal fluid to reach the Pineal, and you are enlightened. So, all this seed is being wasted. We are famous for our release, not understanding that pressure buildup and channeling of our energy up the spine. That is called Kundalini Awakened. Can’t wake up what isn’t there!
Please learn what you can about these things. There are so many natural healing methods to enhance our capabilities. Let us not be so lazy we just pop another pill.
We’re already shaking. What’s going to be left to shake when we get old? Tired nerves and old memories, if we haven’t already lost those.
Blessings.

PS:
I just reviewed this post. Even the ads on the page are offering sex goodies!
Please learn all you can. You are your own scientist. May the experiment be long and prosperous and fulfilling!
Blessings.
Tantric Meditation
Yogi Bhajan referred to this meditation as a Tantric Meditation. Pumping the navel point will allow you to move blocked emotional energy. We suggest 11 minutes for beginners and expand to 31 minutes.
To Begin: Sit in easy pose with your hands in Gyan Mudra (thumb and index finger meet at tips). Focus your eyes at the third eye point. Chant the word HARI (God) continuously while pulling the navel point each time you chant the word Hari.
Keep Up and You Will Be Kept Up

Food of the Angels
A lovely story the Siri Singh Sahib told, was of a saint who’s sadhana was to cook and feed people.
People would bring mung beans, rice and milk to this person. The only thing he did was make Kichari and Yogurt. He’d serve it to the people and they would be healed.
In India, Kichari is, “…one of the first foods you eat, and one of the last foods you eat…”
Kichari offers an extremely digestible protein. Combined with homemade yogurt, the two combine into a very nutritious meal.
The Siri Singh Sahib, calling Mung Beans and Rice “Food of the Angels”, expressed how we are so rich we can add vegetables to it. In fact, the recipe was taped to the inside of the kitchen cabinet at the ashram on Preuss Rd. Hmmmm. I wonder if it is still there?
We have the recipe!
Okay, we have a version of the recipe. Just type ‘Kichari’ into Google and stand back.
Since we’re here, try this:
Basic Mung Beans and Rice, Kichari Recipe
1 c. washed
1 c. washed
9 c. Water
In a thick-bottomed stainless steel pot, add the Mung Beans to the Water and bring to a boil.
To the boiling beans add:
1 Tblsp powder
3-5 , hulled and crushed.
1 heaping Tsp
Chop and add:
1 Onion
3 Stalks of Celery
3 Carrots
1/2 – 1 bulb of Garlic
2″ piece of peeled , minced
1 – 3 Green Chiles, deseeded and chopped.
You can add any other vegetables you like.
Many is the time I’ll clean the refrigerator into the Kichari pot; adding those leftover pieces of chopped Onion, that lonely Potato. Take the Cilantro stems and chop them into the pot. Yummy!
When the beans start breaking open, you can add the Basmati Rice. Now, you need to watch it. Once it comes back to a boil, turn down to a simmer, put a lid on it, and come back every few minutes to stir. If it starts to stick, move the pot off the heat for a few minutes. Stir, and put it back on the burner.
Cook until the whole thing disintegrates into mush. That’s what you want!
To finish, heat 2 – 3 Tblsp of or in a small pan.
Before it gets hot, add 1 Heaping Tsp of or .
When the temperature is right, the seeds will start popping. WATCH! Oil burns!
When the seeds start popping, quickly add 1 Tsp of and 1 Tsp . Stir for just a moment and quickly add to the pot.
YOU ARE ADDING HOT OIL TO WATER! This will cause a small explosion of steam, heat and possibly hot oil. Have no fear, cooks have been doing this for years. It is called ‘tadka’, loosley translated as ‘tempering’.
NOW is the time to watch the pot.
Add to taste, about a Tblsp.
If you want a delicious exotic flavor, use . Smells like sulphur at first, and then mellows into a most delightful depth of flavor.
Continue cooking on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the oil is absorbed.
Serve with Yogurt, Cheese, and Bread.
We’ve learned that many people are having a hard time locating Indian Food items.
We are truly pleased with the pricing and selections available from Amazon.
They are as competitively priced as any “Brick and Mortar” store I’ve visited, and they deliver!
If you can’t find “exotic” groceries in your area, here are some offerings from the recipe, that will be delivered.
Good Eating!

Kriya for Health and Vitality

Sodarshan Chakra Kriya
The meditation we’re suggesting today is an advanced one, not for beginners. This meditation works with the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is the master gland controlling the other glands. Mastering this meditation will increase intuition and the pranic powers. Start at 31 minutes a day and expand to 62 minutes.
Straighten the spine and focus the eyes at the tip of the nose. They eyes are 9/10 closed (very important detail). Place the left hand in gyan mudra (thumb and index finger together). The thumb and index finger of the right hand will be used to block the nostrils, one at a time.
Use the right thumb and block the right nostril. Slowly inhale through the left nostril. As you inhale you will repeat a mantra while pumping the navel point. Mentally repeat WHA HE GURU (Wha Hey Guroo) 16 times while pumping the navel on every sylable (total of 48 pumps per cycle.
Unblock the right nostril, block the left nostril and slowly exhale through the right nostril.
Repeat for 31 to 62 minutes. When finished, inhaled and hold for five to ten seconds.
The video below is from one of Yogi Bhajan’s classes. We were fortunate to be at this class when it was taught. In this variation, Sodarshan Chakra Kriya, Yogi Bhajan begins with the left nostril. He gives an incredible description of the mantra, ‘Wha He Guru’.
He says that Wha is a water sound. He -is the word for God and is a fire sound. Guru, is the sound of light. It shatters the limitlessness of human thought. Alchemically, we are mixing water, fire and light in this process, which he says creates Ether.
